I think this barb name change thread makes the least sense, as he is supposed to be the same barb we played in D2 (unless you want bliz to change the storyline for D3 as well).|||Quote:

End of story.|||I read somewhere a long time ago that the barb was originally a viking, and that the dev team just kept calling it a barb because of its similar looks, so they transitioned it into the barb, because originally they didn;t want to bring back any d2 classes, I don't rmember where I read it or how credible the information was though.

a barb would eat a warrior|||That's correct (in fact it's mentioned on page 2 of this thread), although I don't recall that they ever put a name to the char they were originally developing. I think Barbarian captures his size and the berserker aspect of him well, while a warrior seems like a more dextrous persona to me (and a boring/generic term besides).|||Quote:

Viking sounds good to me as an alternative to a Barb. Why they changed the Sorc to a Wiz and a Necro to a WD and not the Barb is a bit strange. Their story of "people would have called him a barbarian anyway" doesn't really work with me. Really, who really gives a rats *** if some people did call their Viking a Barbarian? I guess they just got sentimental over the big ol' guy and wanted to keep him.

that'd be a cool name especailly because the lost vikings was a retro bilzzard game

but they didn;t change the necro to the witch dotcor, they're making them play very differently so they can bring back the necro in an exp if they want to (they haven't confirmed it, but mentioned it)

as for the wiz. they just said its a wiz because it uses other magic other than elemental where was the sorcs only used elemental|||They should rename the Barbarian "This."

That way in PVP when he kills your buddy and you say "Wtf happened?!" All you see is "This." in the air wielding the Quadruple Bladed Eclipse Axe of Death, and your health is instantly reduced to -3^382|||lol the OP sounds like someone id make fun of in RL.. not gunna lie.
