Opinions on new armor shown - Page 2

Your wrong.

right you can compare the middle picture

to this for example

or this

just because the male armor picture does not have any real background does not prevent if from being the exact same as a view of the character with that armor on when the male barbarian is having his back turned towards the player in the ingame cam. just as the female barb show her back toward the player in the screen grabs from the press-kit video.

Mayby you should provide more evidence next time as to why i am wrong.|||You can't see the concept armor from the in-game cam. |||I prefer his armors to look like to be made of metal, leather, and bones like the old artworks show instead of "animal themed".

But perhaps blizz thought that the newly revealed looks are distinguishable and thus, good.|||The most disappointing thing about all this is that they went with the elephant theme and not a beaver.

Seriously though, the barbarian should be the big bad guy on the battlefield but it can be accomplished by other means than freaking animal bones, or at least somewhat of a better choice of animals. An elephant? Really? Poor design choice in my opinion.|||Apparantly, we are all blind and too dumb to notice anything unless they make it ridiculously huge so it "pops out" for us idiots to take notice. That seems to be their philosophy.

Much of the armor seems to be good for defending the space 5 feet away from the characters. It's not just the shoulder stuff, but the WD's mask horns too. The elephant shoulders make the barb unrecognizable and not even human. He looks like he has four arms. Are silhouettes THAT important? The character is dead center of the screen for the many hundreds of hours we are going to be staring directly at him. We are going to notice subtle changes, so all this extreme silhouette stuff is not all that necessary.|||Elephant armor is okay. I give it 6.5/10.

Dino armor is blech. 3.5/10.

I would prefer tiger or sabretooth skin cloaked over dark iron armor or something cool like that.|||Quote:

agreed someone at blizzard must have huge problems differencing between monsters and their own character

Its not that damn hard to see where your character is....|||Quote:

When I showed the armor to my wife she got this confused look on her face and said, "I don't get it?" haha|||I think I'm going to jump on the "animal themed armors are kinda lame" bandwagon.

The upper level armor in D2 made the barb look super badass and intimidating without being over the top or goofy.

Kinda too much. I want to play a barbarian, not Barney the friendly dinosaur.|||Quote:

The Barb looks like he got Ace McCloud's armor beamed to him accidentally.
