Barbarians for a Better Tomorrow! - Page 5

Ugh, we use Battle Command, we no stupid (ok, speaking that way isn't helping much ^^):

Quote:

Using this skill a Barbarian can examine the abilities of his companions and, during battle, determine how best the group should apply their various skills. It is this skill as well as their natural abilities as leaders that are gradually shedding the long held stereotype that the Barbarian people are merely ignorant savages.|||Quote:

Barbarians are whirling, raging, out of control monsters in battle.

The enemies are whirling, raging, out of control monsters in battle.

Hmmm....it seems the heros, the barbarians, are emulating the devils they fight against. I'll go with knights any day.

Think about it; aren't screaming warcries, going into a mad frenzy, mimicing a whirling devil, and going berserk the types of things evil monsters do?

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is a perfect example of people judging things by appearances.

I'll admit that Hitler also screamed warcries, went into mad frenzies and perhaps at times, he also mimicked a whirling devil, and he certainly went berserk too.

But Hitler's biggest crimes were comitted with much subtler means, namely by using people who judged others by being different, to do his dirty work.

A battle is a brutal and chaotic situation where people get mauled, slashed, impaled, smashed etc. How do you survive such a situation? By becoming a raging, chaotic, out-of-control entity of destruction, that's more brutal and unpredictable than anything else.

And calling them "monsters" is a very subjective thing, which I don't even think merits a deeper answer.

And last I checked, the monsters were sorta under the control of Diablo and his brothers.

Emulating the monsters? Since when did Barbarians slaughter innocent townsfolk? The Barbarian is simply giving the demons a taste of their own medicine (same as all the other heroes really - would you rather want a game that's all about praying and forgiving the demons?), but doing it in a very direct manner. I fail to see how that's any different than being a knight.

Evil monsters kill and torture innocent people, women, children and the elderly. The way they go about it is irrelevant.

The Barbarians aim to rid their lands of the threat represented by the demons by any means necessary. Again, the method is irrelevant.

I conclude that you simply don't find a Barbarian character appealing and are disappointed by his inclusion in a third game (the latter I can't really blame you for either), therefore you're looking for any and all excuses to bash the character.

I can inform you that the character was included in the game, because there are many people who enjoy allowing themselves to go berserk and "HULK SMASH!" stuff without consequence to their own person and without the need for sophistication.

You're not required to like it, but you damned well better learn to respect that there are people who do like it. Your post reeks of disrespect - clean it up!|||Quote:

Your post was good up until this last bit. You have no reason to ask this person to clean up his or her post. People can post opinions. Until they cross the line they will be allowed to do so. Leave that line drawing to me, please.
